We still have not received a call, so I guess he is still # 1 on the list. I will try to call this week to see if we can get an update. Keep the prayers coming and maybe it will be soon.

# 1
Benny is # 1 on the transplant list. He got a call yesterday from the doctor telling him that they had a liver but it was a high risk one. Nothing showed up on the test they did on the liver but something could show up later. Benny turned it down so he is still # 1. I was in Montgomery with my Dad at Baptist South Hospital when Benny got the call. The nurses talked to the doctor and they released him so we could get home. So now we are just waiting for the call. Thanks for your prayers and please continue them.
#4
We moved back up to # 4 this week. Anna at UAB said they did a lot of transplants last week. Also, the fair will be here another week. The place where the James Gang was going to next week canceled, so they are just going to stay here. We have really enjoyed seeing everyone out there

Still # 6
We are still # 6 on the list, but we are packed and ready. There is going to be a fair in the parking lot beside the Crow's Nest here in Andalusia from April 19th to the 23rd. The times on Tuesday thru Friday will be 6:00 until 10:00, and on Saturday 3:00 until 10:00. Part of the proceeds the Crows Nest makes is going to be donated to the Benny Dunn Benefit Fund. So we are inviting you to come join the fun.

We are # 6
We have moved down to # 6. Every month the people on the liver transplant list has blood work done to see what their meld score is. That is the score they get from your blood work that tells you how much the liver is functioning. When you get in the top 5, the person in the worst shape gets the liver. So, it could be a long wait even tho they have told us to have our bags packed and in the car. The benefit fund response has been wonderful. We can not tell you how much this means to us. We appreciate it so much. Thanks for your continued prayers.

The journey begins...
Benny Dunn was born and raised in Andalusia, AL. He is 59 years old and has been married to his wife Charlee for 37 years. He and Charlee have two adult sons, Jacob and Jeffery, and two grandchildren--Cassidy is 13, and Brayden is 2. He has a wonderful family and many friends. His friends have an opportunity to personally express their love and concern during a time of great need in Benny's life.
Benny was diagnosed with a genetic disorder known as Hemochromatosis in 2002. The many effects of this disease have caused Benny to be unable to work or enjoy the daily activities we all take for granted. The organ damage associated with this disorder has caused Benny to need a liver transplant.
His doctors believe he is a good candidate for transplant and he has recently been placed on the transplant list. His family does have medical insurance, but the co-pays and large deductibles associated with his surgery are very costly, and after his recovery he will require lifelong medications that will be expensive.
The Benny Dunn Benefit was organized by friends and family that are striving to lessen the physical, emotional, and financial impact during this difficult time so he may focus on healing. Please consider making a donation which will help with the great financial burden on Benny and his family.
This family has already experienced the power of prayer, and they know the opportunity for a life-saving transplant is a direct result of those prayers. Continue to pray for Benny and his family during the long process of waiting for surgery, the surgery itself, and the recovery.
There is no way to express the gratitude and appreciation for the help you may provide.
Much love,
The friends and family of Benny Dunn
